Manchester City contacted for comment on Erling Haaland transfer reports


Manchester City’s desire to sign Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland is no secret in the footballing world.

The 21-year-old has burst onto the scene in recent years, scoring a staggering 131 goals in 178 professional appearances.

As a result, Manchester City have identified Erling Haaland as their number one target to replace the club’s all-time top scorer Sergio Aguero – who left in the summer of 2021.

Earlier this week, Daily Mail’s Mike Keegan announced that City had reached an agreement with Erling Haaland and his side on a five-year contract worth up to £500,000 a week, making him the player Manchester City’s highest paid.

According to the report, Manchester City are ready to trigger Haaland’s £63million release clause, and ‘if all goes well’could close the deal within a week.

However, multiple sources across Europe have reported that advanced talks are underway.

In his Tuesday morning press conference ahead of Manchester City’s Premier League clash with Brighton and Hove Albion during the week, Pep Guardiola also declined to comment on the situation.

“I have another worry in my head to think about what will happen at this club next season” Dynamism Guardiola said.

He continued, “We are playing without a striker this season. For many years I don’t think about transfer windows, especially when we have amazing things to play.”
