NEWCASTLE is preparing to pour some of its considerable money into Barcelona’s rebel Ousmane Dembele contract, according to reports in Spain.
Saudi company Toon is set to spend big in January and has put the French winger on its shopping list, Mundo Deportivo said.
The 24-year-old’s contact with the Spanish giants expires at the end of the season.
Barca have apparently made him an attractive offer to stay, but Dembele and his agent Moussa Sissoko are keeping their options open.
This opened the door for the Geordies, who apparently made him “an astronomical proposition.”
Mundo Deportivo report that the Magpies are ready to offer Dembele £ 12.6million per season in wages and a big commission payout to Sissoko.
It would be a blow to Barca’s new boss Xavi, who is keen to tie up the star, despite fining him for his delay in training earlier this month.
Dembele’s signing would be a big boost for Prem’s Magpies, who are keen to rebuild themselves and become challengers for top honors following their £ 305million buyout.

Dembele’s time in La Liga was marred by injury following his £ 138million transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2017.
The highly rated Frenchman has only scored 30 goals in 120 appearances for the Catalans.
He returned to action earlier this month after a five-month layoff with a knee injury, before receiving another hamstring blow.
