Inter Milan could deny Tottenham Hotspur and Everton two of their transfer goals because TyC Sports reports that the Italian champions are considering offering Alexis Sanchez to River Plate in exchange for Julian Alvarez.
The Nerazzurri are keeping a close eye on Alvarez’s prolific form as the Argentine lights up the Primera Division this season. He has scored 17 goals in 19 games and contributed one goal or assist in 12 of his last 13 appearances.
Inter sent scouts to watch Alvarez at Rosario Central on Sunday as he provided an assist in a 2-2 draw. They also had to report with glowing references. Inter are now set to mix their pursuit of the 21-year-old with plans to offload Sanchez in the January window.
Simone Inzaghi hasn’t picked up Sanchez since Antonio Conte replaced at the San Siro in June. The Chilean’s frequent muscle injuries have also played a role in his status as an outcast.
Inter are hoping to replace Sanchez with a young and promising option. However, River Plate wants at least ⬠20million (£ 17million) for Alvarez. This number represents the player’s release clause, and they also want full payout with no installments or add-ons.
River Plate knows Alvarez is in demand and that Barcelona, ââReal Madrid and Juventus are also excited. Therefore, they are going to fight before they sell one of the brightest prospects in South America.
Will Inter Milan refuse Everton and Tottenham via the Sanchez-Alvarez exchange?
River Plate would accept Inter Milan’s offer from Sanchez in partial exchange for Alvarez would also see the Nerazzurri deny Everton and Tottenham their transfer targets.
Reports by Calciomercato Note Tottenham are also in the race to sign Alvarez from River Plate. The Italian publication also claims its release clause is actually ⬠25million (£ 21million).
Besides, Inter live reports that Rafa Benitez wants Sanchez at Everton and could target the Chilean as early as January. The Nerazzurri are not against his exit but would demand a fee from the Toffees for the 32-year-old, who has only started one Serie A game this season.
Sanchez is yet to score in the Italian top flight but has provided two assists in seven appearances this season. While Inzaghi has only fielded him three times in the Champions League, each on the bench, Sanchez scored in his last outing against Sheriff Tiraspol.
